Today I am going to give you my recipe of fresh salted cucumber, a very simple recipe. This is one of my favorites that I have as my sandwich toppings. You can of course use the fresh salted cucumber to a lot of things. When you do hamburger you can do your own fresh salted cucumber instead of having to buy a tin of salted cucumber.
I come from a small town in Sweden, Mariestad. There you can buy fresh salted cucumber in the grocery store. In Gothenburg you can´t find it anywhere, at least not the fresh salted with only salt and dill added. That was one of the things I discovered when I moved to Gothenburg as 18-years old (long time ago). That was the point when I started to make my own. On top it is super simple!

Recipe, fresh salted cucumber
1-2 cucumbers
2 table spoon of salt
Dill
Fresh salted cucumber is very easy to make!
It is very simple to make fresh salted cucumber and the only things you need is a plastic bag, cucumber, salt and dill.
You cut the cucumber in 3-4 pieces. Put them in the plastic bag. Add the dill and 2 table spoons of salt. Make a simple knot and put the plastic bag with the cucumber in a deep plate (to make sure it does not leak). You put them in your refrigerator and turn the bag a couple of times every day, for 2 days (48 hours). After that you can slice them and you keep them in the same bag when you put them back to the refrigerator.


Put all cucumber pices in plastic bags add 2 table spoons of salt and dill!


The fresh salted cucumber is so good! I have them always on my sandwich in the summer. Once you made this you’ll never go back to canned pickles from the store.
